Khartoum Plants Friendship: 500 Trees Launch Sudanese-Chinese Green Belt

Khartoum – Masar Media
The Sudanese-Chinese Friendship Green Belt initiative was officially launched in Khartoum with the planting of 500 trees along Madani Street, as part of efforts to promote environmental protection, expand green spaces and support a more sustainable urban future.
The initiative was held under the patronage of the Governor of Khartoum State, in coordination with the Higher Council for Environment and Urban and Rural Development in Khartoum State and Khartoum Locality.
The tree-planting campaign brought together representatives of the Peoples’ Youth Association, youth groups, Scouts, Girl Guides, the Women’s Union, nursery owners and community support groups, reflecting broad community participation in environmental initiatives.
The project seeks to strengthen public involvement in protecting the environment and expanding green areas across Khartoum, with the planting of 500 trees marking the first phase of the initiative.
Under the slogan “A Tree Today… Life Tomorrow,” the initiative combines environmental action with a message of friendship and cooperation between Sudan and China.
