Haidar Osman, Director of the Radio and Television Authority in Kassala State, stressed the importance of unifying media concepts and perspectives and strengthening cooperation among media institutions, describing the media as a key partner in supporting peace, social cohesion, and positive change.
Osman made the remarks in his address during a gathering that brought together leaders, media professionals, and participants from Kassala and Red Sea states. He praised the partnership and coordination between the two states, emphasizing that such cooperation represents an important step toward exchanging expertise and unifying efforts in service of local communities.
He noted that the current stage requires media professionals to work as one team and develop a shared understanding of common issues and priorities. Such an approach, he said, would strengthen the media’s public-service role and enhance its capacity to contribute to addressing national and community concerns.
Osman emphasized that the media should serve as a voice for peace, solidarity, and social harmony, while avoiding messages and practices that could deepen divisions within society.
He stressed the need to direct media efforts toward raising public awareness and promoting a culture of coexistence, cooperation, and mutual understanding, particularly during a period in which Sudanese communities face significant social and humanitarian challenges.
In concluding his remarks, Osman welcomed the participants and expressed hope that the gathering would produce practical outcomes that contribute to developing professional media work and strengthening communication and cooperation between Kassala and the Red Sea State.
